New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has made another big claim about India and Pakistan. He claims that he mediated between India and Pakistan. If America had not intervened, the conflict could have turned into a nuclear war. For the past few days, Trump has been continuously claiming credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Although India has refuted that claim several times, Trump is not moving from his position. (India-Pakistan Conflict)

Trump opened up about India and Pakistan from the Oval Office of the White House on Friday. At that time, his advisor, billionaire Elon Musk, was also with Trump in the Oval Office. And there, Trump said, “We stopped the fight between India and Pakistan. I believe that the fight could have turned into a nuclear disaster.” Trump also thanked the leaders of India and Pakistan, as well as the governments of the two countries, for agreeing to a ceasefire. He said that they also played a positive role in bringing the conflict to an end. (Donald Trump)

When the ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan, it was not the first announcement by the governments of the two countries. Rather, Trump was the first to announce the ceasefire. He said that America had mediated and convinced the two countries to agree to a ceasefire. Since then, Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He also claimed that the two countries agreed to the ceasefire due to the ‘juju’ of trade and commerce. Even during the hearing of a case, the Trump government signed an affidavit in an American court.

Trump was heard saying the same thing in the Oval Office of the White House on Friday. He said, “We can’t do business with those who are shooting at each other, possibly using nuclear weapons. The leaders of both countries are wise, they also understand the seriousness of the situation and agree…and that’s how the war ends.” Although he admitted that he received cooperation from India and Pakistan in reaching the ceasefire decision, Trump said that America is playing the role of a guardian to stop conflicts and get out of war situations everywhere in the world. Trump also highlighted America’s military power and leadership ability. He said, “We are also stopping others from fighting. Because we can fight better than anyone else. Our military is the best in the world. Our leaders are great.”

On April 22, militants killed 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgaon, Kashmir, which led to a new conflict between India and Pakistan. India entered Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and launched Operation Sindoor. Several terrorist camps on Pakistani soil were destroyed. After Operation Sindoor, the conflict reached its peak. Pakistani warplanes and drones violated Indian airspace. India stopped their aggression in mid-air and retaliated.

In that situation, the international community practically started counting the days. There was a fear that the situation could be dire if the conflict between the two nuclear-armed states escalated into a full-scale war. In that situation, Trump announced a ceasefire. He claimed that the ceasefire was possible due to American intervention. Although no objection was heard from Pakistan, India has been continuously stating that there is no third party role in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Both countries reached this decision by mutual consent. But Trump is not backing down from his demand.
